Reign City is a premium residential remodeling company based in Lake Forest Park, WA. Founded in 2021 by Jon Chafe — 29 years in residential construction, starting as a framer at 16.
Jon started framing houses at 16. Not as a summer job — as a trade. He learned how homes are put together from the ground up, in the walls and floors and structural connections that most homeowners never see and most project managers never touch. That foundation did not just give him technical knowledge. It gave him a different kind of judgment about where projects are real and where they are optimistic.
Before founding Reign City in 2021, Jon spent time as a wildland firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service. That background shapes more than a resume. Fighting fire in remote terrain, under pressure, with limited information and real consequences for poor decisions — that experience built composure, endurance, and a way of leading through difficulty that does not disappear when something unexpected surfaces mid-project.
He does not approach this business like a typical contractor. He thinks like an operator building a company meant to last — with systems, standards, and a culture that produces consistent results rather than relying on individual heroics or favorable conditions.

Edmonds, WA — Multimillion-Dollar Structural Remodel
A complete three-level transformation with no compromises — structural, mechanical, finish, and six heated outdoor living areas.
This project involved the full transformation of all three levels of the home. Load-bearing walls were removed and replaced with engineered beams carrying the roof structure. The basement floor was demolished entirely to install all-new mechanical systems from the ground up, including radiant heat throughout the home and cast iron plumbing stacks specified for sound control.
A fully integrated A/V system was coordinated across every level. Six separate outdoor living areas were designed and built as heated, functional spaces — not afterthoughts. Finishes were sourced nationally to meet the design intent without compromise at any point in the project.
After completion, every real estate professional brought through the property recommended it for award submission. That recognition was not something Reign City sought. It was what the work produced.
